Rating System 

How to interpret our ratings:

We use a  numerical value from 1 thru 10  with 10 being a "must see" and a 1 is a "Not Recommended", and then we have a series of descriptive words that define an overall qualification of an area, city or even a country. 

#10=A Must See #9=Highly recommended #8= Recommended #7= Worth the Trip #6= Should be in your plans

#5= Make an effort to see #4= May be enjoyable for most #3= Needs some improvements #2= See it only if you are already there #1= Not Recommended

These descriptive words are described in detail below: 

Decent - An overall pleasant location, Clean, Low in crime, and Friendly population. However this does not imply that there is a lot to see or do. For that you must scan the related page for links attractions and activities. The same or the inverse would apply also to the rest of the ratings.

Reasonable - Fairly priced, Relatively clean, and a low level of complications. 

Abrasive - People are overly friendly and are always wanting to sell you something or take you somewhere. Makes for an uncomfortable experience even though there may be great natural beauty or other attractions.

Unpleasant - A large percentage of the population are unfriendly toward visitors. If you can accept this there may still be some beauty in this type of location

Questionable - We would not recommend this for persons not familiar with the customs or unwilling to adapt to the local way of life.

Avoid - This location has  a significantly high rate of crime  and would signify that traveling here may endanger your life.

The view point from which these ratings are derived is as seen by a visitor from a highly developed country. If you hail from a country that has similar level of development or customs then you may feel entirely comfortable in a location that another visitor may not.
