Julian Beever

3D sidewalk art

By Julian Beever (also circulating incorrectly on the net as Julian Beeves)

This English artist became famous by creating 3D images on the sidewalks of  of England, France, Germany,  The Netherlands, Belgium and Australia.

His art is done primarily on sidewalks or pavement and are done in such a way that when viewed from the correct perspective the appear to be 3 dimensional. Not all of his works are 3 D as he has done some reproductions of the great masters, some are a homage to famous people, and even murals. Look theses over and you will be as we were, simply amazed.

This is perhaps one of the most realistic of all his drawings.

The one above is supposed to be viewed upside down as shown below.

The next 4 are a progressive series

You have probably figured out by now that he is on his knees.

The above globe was done for the G8 Concert series.
And in the picture below it is from the wrong view

And now another wrong view and then the correct view.

This one is labeled "Politicians meeting their end" 1997 outside of the Bank of England
