Recreation:

• Skyline Caverns - These elusive caves feature rare rock formations known as anthodites, as well as Capitol Dome, the Wishing Well, Cathedral Hall, and Rainbow Falls.
• Shenandoah National Park - located in Blue Ridge Mountains, the Shenandoah River flows through rolling country, offers panoramic waterfall views and great camping.
• George Washington National Forest - once a passageway for pioneers and a battleground during the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, this forest is a great place to hike, fish, backpack, bike, camp, and view wildlife.
• Plus many other scenic backgrounds for camping, biking, canoeing, or hiking including Jim Barnett Park, Candy Hill Campground, Wilkins Lake, Sherando Lake, and Clearbrook Lake.

Entertainment:

• Dinosaur Land - 30+ life-sized reproductions of dinosaurs!
• Enjoy current feature films in Winchester’s classic Family Drive-In Theatre.
• Busch Gardens - this amusement park offers Miniature cities from around the world, amazing rides, and Water Country, USA
• Washington D.C.  only about an hour and a half away from the nation’s capitol

Historical Sites:

• Cedar Creek Battlefield Foundation - site of the 1864 union army victory over the confederates during the American Civil War
• George Washington’s Office Museum - was used by George Washington from 1755 - 1756 as a military office
• Stonewall Jackson’s Headquarters - where Jackson spent much of the winter of 1861 - 1862, relict Confederate entrenchments and Federal gun positions can still be seen on the grounds
• Belle Grove Plantation - this well preserved 18th-century grain and livestock farm was the headquarters of General Philip Sheridan during the Civil War.
