Florida - the "Sunshine State"

Florida is over 600 miles long from North to South and has climatic ranges from semi tropical to temperate. The nicest beaches in the continental USA are found on both sides of Florida, both the Gulf and Atlantic. Just ask any college student they will tell you where their favorite beaches are in "Florida". 

Low rolling hills dotted with horse ranches and springs (See Ichetucknee Springs) dominate the Northern portion of the state and give way to lower lying land, the enormous Everglades  wforrest2a.jpg (40521 bytes) (native American name for "rivers of grass"), Ten Thousands  Islands and  the Florida Keys.

Central of Florida  once covered with orange groves is being developed at a rapid pace and is the home many tourist destinations known the world over.

Many of the best location in Florida are walk through historic sites, of which, one  is in the oldest European settlements in the New World. Visit these locations Kennedy Space Center  - Castillo De San Marcos - Fort Jefferson - Fort Matanzas

This state has some great attractions:

[ Historic Bok Sanctuary ] Historic Bok Sanctuary
Long famous as "America's Taj Mahal," Edward Bok's incredible tower and its surrounding gardens are located in Lake Wales. This magnificent structure is a work of art in itself, featuring the finest creations of hundreds of masons, sculptors, and artisans of every craft from both the Old World and the New. A National Historic monument built by Bok as a gift to the American people, it stands dramatically atop one of Florida's highest hills, surrounded by elaborate gardens filled with rare plants.

Spook Hill is Florida's most famous free attraction, and greets visitors with an eerie ride uphill, at the hands of unseen forces.

Withlacoochee State Forest is currently the third largest state forest in Florida and is divided into eight distinct tracts of land.

Ocala National Forest - This immense National Forest has camping, fishing, boating, hiking, and all the other great features that a National Forest brings.
 

Cities in the the State of Florida very from quaint places such as LaBelle, to historically rich St Augustine and then on to the homes of the rich and famous, such as Naples and West Palm Beach. Visit Dade City ,   Tampa , Orlando  and all the local attractions

Depending on the time of the year that you are in Florida some of the sunshine comes in a liquid form -Rain. It really rains in the summer months just the opposite of California, Oregon and Washington, however the winter months are relatively dry and the humidity is much lower.
