Below is are links to locations that offer diving of one sort or another.

Safety Factors:

Scuba diving is a fantastic activity but it comes with some risk. Do not attempt to to scuba dive without being properly schooled. Don't offer to teach someone else unless you are a "Certified Instructor".

The following are just reminders:

    • Verify proper procedures by reading your dive manual or taking a refresher course.

    • Have physical examine to verify you are healthy enough to engage in this activity.

    • Keep your equipment serviced.

    • Evaluate your intended dive location.

    • Do not dive when taking certain medication, any illicit drugs or after or while drinking alcohol.

    • File a dive plan with a dependable person on shore.

    • Always have  a boat tender (someone to operate the boat, in case you can't make it back to the boat) when on an open water dive.

    • Always fly a dive flag to warn boaters of your location.

    • Never Dive alone and stay in visual contact with your buddy.

    • Do not exceed your training limits (depth - caves - wrecks - rescue)

    • Avoid hazards (nets - strong currents - cables - etc)

    • Monitor your air consumption and always return with the appropriate amount.

    • Memorize the decompression tables and adhere to them!!!!

    • Know the safety procedures and practice them on a regular basis.

While this may not be mandatory don't be a smoker. Smoking is not only life threatening in itself. but it reduces the efficiency of your lungs. Meaning you have to take in more air than you should just to keep up with a non-smoker. If you do smoke and want help to quit  see the  American Cancer Society's "Kick the Habit" page.

For you consideration:
The more you get to do a sport the more you will enjoy it. We have found that being prepared to leave at a moment notice will increase the number of time that you will actually get out and do it. Ultimately the best way to be prepared is to have all the necessary gear already stored in a "gear trailer". This is a trailer dedicated to this purpose.
