Lucid Dreaming

Sounds like an oxymoron doesn't it.

You may want to ask how can you be asleep and yet be aware and in control of your dreams. But it is possible.

Many people have learned how to harness this ability, enabling them direct their dreams in a path that they want to go.

How is it done?
First you need to determine what it is that you want to do in your dreams. Set this desire in your mind by thinking that the next time you realize you are dreaming you will use the dream state to fulfill your desired dream accomplishment. This could be flying, or rock climbing or what ever. Remember these are dreams and you can do anything. Your only limitations are your deep set moral values. You need to decide what it will be while you are awake and set that in your mind. Look forward to it every night.
Secondly  you need to be able to recognize that you are dreaming. This is best done by watching for the ludicrous. You know, the sort of things in dreams that can only take place in a dream. These occurrences will become the trigger. Condition yourself to watch for this type of oddity, it could be anything; talking animals, a liaison with someone that would never occur in the real world.
When a ludicrous situation occurs your sub-conscious trigger will jolt you and you will realize that this is in fact a dream and you can now pursue your dream desires.

At first it is best to have just one particular desire such as flying, but as you become more experienced you can develop a list and be lucid enough to actually choose one to fulfill. Just a word of warning be sure that you are sleeping and not actually standing on the edge of the Grand Canyon.
One drawback from setting a trigger to alert you that you are dreaming, is that it can sometimes cause you to wake up. At least you will know that the trigger is working. This too will become easier to control as you become more adept at this.

This is not self hypnosis or meditation. In a lucid dream you still find that not every facet is controlled and your line of desire may begin to morph and assume characteristics of an unconscious dream state and may need a little prodding to keep it on track.

This is also a good way to get away from a terrifying or depressing dream.

Happy dreams

Their are several sites on the web for you to peruse but remember it is not more difficult than outlined above. Use discretion. Don't get suckered by some dream guru who is fulfilling their dreams in the real world.  The links below are dynamic and are provided by a third party and we cannot vouch for the contents there in.
